Delusion

1 Peter 2:11-12

Living before the World

11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,  12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers,  they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Let me search for you pilgrim ... remove all the dross

The glitter on the surface must be all pollution

Don’t look so grim ... protecting at any cost

What isn’t there in the first place in your chosen delusion?

What are you hiding pilgrim ... a heart of pyrite?

It glows like the real but it’s kind of worthless

Your chances appear slim for you to win any fight

For truth and its appeal seem in you now wordless

What now to do oh pilgrim ... did opportunity pass you by?

Are you not feeling deep inside a life that has gone wrong?

Your candle has not dimmed but has gone out and dried

You have lost any trace of light and the place you belonged
