On Demand
How does one write on command?
Fulfill a need, plug a demand.
Everything may be green until it turns to gold,
but rhyming under order leaves me feeling so cold.
It's not about the shell,
nor the rhyme scheme you chose.
The words are naught but a cell
for the thought you propose.
Words are good for nothing
but to contrive a maze.
To leave the reader seeking
for the truth in the haze.
This scholarship's not the point,
I do so hate to disappoint.
But if the idea is not quite so obvious,
I fear this will be very difficult to discuss.
