Democracy In Action

Men killed in battle on a sweltering day Fighting for our freedoms, no matter what we say Killing ruthless terrorists There is no such thing as rest For our men and for our leader. Women working themselves raw While their babies cry and bawl Drowning in their hopeless fears Creating rivers from their tears Because of their men and because of their leader. Lives broken and bodies battered Turns out none of it really mattered Another chapter in history Just a pitiful “ment-to-be” Because of those men and because of those leaders. A single man stands through it all Bold and courageous and tall We picked him above all others We wouldn’t want another In this land of freedom and democracy.
