Demon Sadness
Demon Sadness
I fight the Demon Sadness
When I think that it is gone
I lift my head again
And I tried to move along
Somehow every single time
It never quite lets me go
The next of its attacks
Will deal a heavy blow
I never have a warning
It never makes a sound
Creeping slow in silence
To knock me to the ground
Each time that I fall down,
It gets harder for me to rise.
Every single time I fumble,
Brings closer my demise.
I pray for God to help me,
Yet I falter in my faith.
Will he really hear me
And bring me sweet relief?
I fight this Demon Sadness
Day after lonely day
I struggle through this fight
And one thing I must say
I can't do this by myself
I feel only pain in me
I need someone there to ease it someone to set me free
My weakening hopefulness
needs to be restored
I need someone's strength
When I can't do this anymore
Each time that I fall down,
It gets harder for me to rise.
Every single time I fumble,
Brings closer my demise.
I pray for God to help me,
Yet I falter in my faith.
Will he really hear me
And bring me sweet relief?
I need a promised love
Strength and guidance too
In this fight with my demon
Until my fight is through
As with everyone on earth
I am far from being perfect
The safety of warm love
My sad heart can't reflect
If I stand in love's great warmth
My demon would rise to leave
This daily battle would be gone
And I could hope and believe
Each time that I fall down,
It gets harder for me to rise.
Every single time I fumble,
Brings closer my demise.
I pray for God to help me,
Yet I falter in my faith.
Will he really hear me
And bring me sweet relief?
