Demons

I fall deeper

As I am a keeper

Of the demons inside

Who continue to hide

Late nights alone

They take refuge in my thoughts

Digging deeper until they make a home

An empty void filled with the misery they cause

I try to shut them out

But they come back stronger than before

I fight until the fire inside me burns out

They start to explore

They find my paintbrush and canvas

They paint a picture

Stained in red...

The paintbrush is the blade

And the canvas in my wrist...
