Denial (Advice Poem)

Holding tight to what pulls you away Everyone watches you lose yourself. It seems when you walk you go astray, Priorities put back on the shelf. To you the family was a safety net Knowing we’d catch you whenever you fall Never thought we would turn away, I bet Refusing to answer if should you call. Forget not, those who supported you Love was never gone - the choice to leave Was made without paying respect to Those who said “open your eyes and see”. I hope she is everything you wanted. No longer around, you just couldn’t see. In a world of lies kept inside your head I cry because you think of only “me”. Your world is now only black and white Instead of being painted with color. A life of greed will never treat you right, The wounds left behind will make it duller. But I know the day will come with time Once you are tired of all the bad. Sadly she will never be worth your time And you’ll realize what you should have had. This is my plead, From your only sister.
