Departure From Love

Pain seeps through the cracks in my soul, How could you so easily give up on being the half to my whole? What is wrong with me? Is it the fact that I care for you more than you care for me? Or is it because the house we built together was meant for two and not three? Infidelity is a disease and I envision you laying on the death bed of deceit, No longer will you be around to kiss the bottoms of my feet, It's for the best that I let you go, There's so many things about you that I didn't know, Like the lies within your cries and the confusion in the delusion you made for me, But now I see that none of that was for me, And none of it was for free, For I had to pay the expensive cost of falling into the trap I call love, It was me who was on my knees every night praying to my God above, It was me, oh yes it was me, Never was it you who was the one trying to work it out, But somehow you managed to show up whenever you felt the need to scream and shout, So on this day, I say to you that I'm through, No more will I be treated like the bottom of your shoe.
