The Dependence of Words
Now, it may seem a little strange-
You’d expect one person, place, or thing.
Yet, all I need are words to fill the empty space.
Words have power, much more than you or me;
They can make one stand tall like a mountain
Or rumble and crash like the sea.
Words, when put to music, answer to the soul.
Sing, dance, laugh, cry
Whatever you may be feeling, words fill that role.
Words are an art, letting me be me.
To speak is to use words:
How can I not speak the truth when honesty sets you free?
Words are what make us human, well
That and two feet.
Without words, I’d question what zoo I would dwell.
