The Dependent to the Independent
Life is as fragile as a fly,
We should all consider ourselves blessed
Because we don’t know when we will say our last good-bye.
At first it was hard to be addressed
But then came along junior high
Where there was no more unrest.
I no longer wanted to be the tough guy
And wear my bullet proof vest
That protected me from the evil eye.
I have admitted the death in a protest
That life is no beautiful butterfly
But a chance to be progressed.
From a child to a wise guy
That is no longer suppressed
From the world where we reclassify.
I am no longer under the arrest
From the communicated lies
That all began to manifest.
As I began to break the hidden tie,
I no longer have a backrest
That I can abide by.
It was time for me to get dressed
And no longer let the memories make me cry
But let them be professed.
My life knowing her was like a drive-by
And must I be confessed,
That I have said my last goodbye.
