The Depletion of Self

Continuously chasing the sun as it disappears,

We soon learn to forget all our fears.

I've found myself traveling down this same road far too many times

And I've committed too many of the same crimes.

The depletion of self.

A wandering mind is never lost.

Beneficial, but to what cost?

Unravel the thoughts of life,

Yet suffer from the inevitable strife.

Conceptually time traveling,

Yet what is found is baffling.

The concrete becomes the abstract,

And the abstract becomes the concrete.

The journey is long and tiresome,

For the depletion of self has yet to come.

The extraction of thoughts must be produced eloquently into words. For those afraid to speak, speak of the best.
