Depression
I’m in the corner
The curtains are closed
And this little girl
Is all alone
Sweet darkness cloaks
It’s so cold
To feel nothing else
But Satan’s hold
I’m in the darkest shadow
Eyes try to avoid
Unless attached to those
Who love to toy
Back to the wall
But still feel the breath
Of fear, sickness, and no regret
I cannot see their faces
In this slumber of day
But still shiver and cry
Of their play
Anger has risen
Hopelessness pushes it down
For it knows this prison
Where I wish for a crown
