Depression

Depression

Is wishing to die

While wanting, seeking, breathing the desire to fly

Why must birds fly free

While I am chained to the prison that is me?

An unnecessary burden

On my friends and family?

If I stopped breathing,

Would anyone notice my leaving?

Every day is a battle that must be won

Against a sinister murderer trying to sever my bonds

Passionate love and atrocious hate

Will I be saved or face my fate?

It hurts

It always hurts

What keeps me on the ground?

What makes me worthwhile to be around?

Will you please, lovingly wait for me

Until I know for  sure I am Depression-free?
