Depression
Isaiah 54:6 New English Translation
6 “Indeed, the Lord will call you back
like a wife who has been abandoned and suffers from depression,
like a young wife when she has been rejected,” says your God.
When depressed, traveling through the night in faith,
and hanging on until joy comes in the morning
My life of faith and that of my will proves to be an insight
that intertwines with God’s in my estate of mourning.
With my heart shattered? Is my life growing and maturing?
When I am asleep, am I then really living?
For only then am I delivered from all my emotions.
When my feelings fade, and flesh can’t be forgiving
When I awake, and nothing seems: there
When I stare into the darkness deep in the night
I don’t feel much of anything until memories then trigger
The way I’m supposed to will and do things that appear right
Is that the very moment that my feelings take control?
Is that where responsibilities get shoved into a corner?
Is that when duty calls and principles are defined?
Where one prepares for battle and already divides the spoil?
