Depression is not your definition
Depression doesn’t define you. It’s just a reason for you to be better. A reason to be a role model for others with the same feelings. Those cuts on your wrists and legs, they will be battle scars. Those hateful thoughts will be proven irrelevant. Your troubles may be numerous, but they will be conquered. Just because you’re low now doesn’t mean that you’ll always be low, someday you will be stronger. You will shout your name with pride and sing with hope. People will look to you. But now you need to push past your self-hate and defeat your demons. You must cast your negativity aside and clothes yourself in hope and strength, you will be a new person, shedding your old skin to make way for a beautiful, stronger one. Confidence will be your sword, and faith your shield. You will destroy your dragon of self-hate, and prove you are no peasant in distress, you are a knight on your gorgeous white horse named Grace. You alone are your hero and need no one to treat you like a royal, you know what you are. You are perfectly beautiful.
