The depression reflected

As I look into the glass, I realize;

I no longer recognize the man in the mirror

His cold, soulless eyes stare deep into me

In them I see darkness, despair, helplessness

And I watch as he puts a gun to his own head

I don’t understand why, I scream and beg for help, looking for someone to stop him

But I know ; I am the one that must save him, the only one who can

With my own two hands, I must pry him from the misery in which he drowns

I look forward to seeing that man in the mirror smile again

In her jade eyes he’ll find again, that beautifully genuine smile

but maybe he’s pushed her too far…. maybe she’s already flown away.
