A Depressive State

Engulfed in the darkness within me as it bleeds out,

The people around me,

In my vicinity,

Don't help out.

Drowning in despair,

No one really cares,

Choking on this nothingness,

I am one no one will miss.

They only ever push me back,

Farther back into my mind where the true horrors lie.

Tortured by memories long since past,

The sands in my hourglass are running fast.

Suffocating in these painful waters as they crash over my head,

The sharks are circling; after all, my abusers have to be fed.

This desolate state consumes my being to the core,

And I, alas, am nothing forevermore.
