The Depths of My Soul
I use to feel lost and insecure in who I was
The pain in my life seemed unbearable and my vision became blurry
Each day I sunk deeper into the dark haziness of my mind
I felt like dying, while I kept grasping for clarity and
understanding in my life, and why I did the things I did
The pain of my past leaves a searing mark on my soul
and I'm trying to wrench it free, but its claws cling for
dear life never lessening its grip
Blood seeps through my gaping wounds, I cry out to You,
Where are You? I scream in agony, "save me from the pain I cause myself..."
In the dark where I feel alone, I hear Your voice, so sweet and loving, declaring, " I love you, I always have"
I feel the warmth of Your presence and my soul mends back together
the darkness I was shrouded in simmers away and I begin
to see You clearly, I give everything to You, I fall down to Your feet
basking in the love You so freely give unto me
