Depths of the Soul

Who am I really?

If you look at my social media, you could tell that my name is Alexus (nickname Lexi) and that I have brown hair

You might notice some of my acne scars but you might not

You probably couldn’t tell that I am very self-conscious

You noticed my blue eyes, maybe?

But could you tell that I am a strong believer of natural beauty and loving yourself for who you are when you wake up in the morning and for what you enjoy most

You could probably tell that my skin is white but my face is usually flushed

But could you tell that I try to find the best in everyone no matter what you look like

There is a chance that you noticed that I smile wide

But I wonder if you could tell how much laughter comes from deep down and outside of that mouth

I highly doubt you could see what I find most important in myself

Can you see my beating heart that yearns to help others?

It helps nourish the relationships that I have near to me

Did you see my brain that’s inside of my chunky-cheeked, "oval" head?

I’m assuming you couldn’t tell that I use my intelligence in other ways besides academically

I use it to help my community by volunteering and working for others

So who am I really?

That is for you to find out and me to express through my words but most importantly, my actions
