Desert Flower
Like a flower in the desert,
I attempt to show my colors in a barren landscape.
Trying to escape,
The stale, dry zephyr to let my mind run free.
While scents of death surround me.
The feel and aroma of darkness
Melts me into the abyss.
Embrace and surrender they say,
But I refuse to give up and decay.
When the day came,
I chose to bloom.
Rather retreat and be consumed.
So I leave the past behind,
To let my colors shine.
