Deserted

 Stranded upon a hellish terrain

Dabbling in loneliness and disdain

A silent killer moves in for a strike

What will accompany me in this empty life?

Will it be dehydration or the unwillingness to survive?

To keep sane on a deserted ground

I ponder a lesson that overcomes all bounds

Keeping close only an honorable code

Taught by my great grandfather, whispered in the walls of his abode

Valuable wisdoms only experienced by wiser folks

When times are rough, and life pulls you asunder

Drown out the doubt with an encompassing thunder

Courage is the only possession a person needs to succeed

It bursts forward when you first start to bleed

An Empowering and inspiring feeling

So while trapped on an island that’s deserted and bare

I would pull from my heart with the upmost care

To be courageous, and climb the highest peak

To soar and bound and survive above the weak

That is the one thing I cannot live without
