Desire
We lay beneath the ancient canopies
Hand in hand in silence as the world around us became violent
Did we cause this despair ?
In love and war, is anything fair?
A connection so innocent never meaning to repent
In time, we will reap what we sow
For now, the world doesn't know
As it decays under our toes
We continue to lay in the glow
Of the sun hanging low
We loved each other for centuries
A warpath we unknowingly chose
But still, we lay under canopies
Mocked by the stoic dirt
We promised never to hurt
