The Desire to Win

The Desire to Win

A boy wins at practice, but fails at races
Giving up may be an option
but he continues to strive for greatness
His mind set is way out of proportion
He can't help but confess
Leaving his team could end in destruction.

He didn't realize running would be so hard
His coach continues to praise his talents
But he still feels as if he run like a lard
He may never be good enough to his own presence
And that one slow race may have him scarred
The one thing he needs is his big boy pants

When he finally realizes he can't give up
He will finally have his varsity pin,
Hard work pays off, that was proven by Galen Rupp
Hard work will not be forsaken
He just needs to saddle up
And find his desire to win
