For the Desolate

One may ponder ones treasures to keep

while stranded upon an island, desolate and barren.

Maybe a movie, a magazine, a book to entertain.

Or someone to keep company,

so ones mind keeps sane.

While most would choose an object to keep their mind occupied

I would chose my mother to stick to my side,

for she has been the one to keep me alive thus far.

Her aid and her love would comfort me so,

on this wasteland, so desert, so barren.
