Despair Broken

Staring at walls, out of mind

Dark despair calls, like no other kind

Shadows swirling, thoughts racing

Emotions twirling, no point in chasing

A hopeless happiness, left to whither

As their nastiness, sends a great shiver

Understanding dawns, stricken like a match

Like hot tongs, hope must attach

Dark at its worst, can only grow brighter

Despair reversed, in the black of night

Sunrise on the horizon, bringing back life

More the wizen, happiness rife

Light washes through, despair undone

Broken into, by a thousand suns
