A Desparate Prayer

I cannot help but look around

At all of the life being had,

While I feel like a lost puppy waiting to be found.

I suppose you want me to be glad,

But I can hardly muster the words to speak.

I don't belong here in this prison

At this, the time of my life's peak

I should be fulfilling the Great Commision

But here I stay,

Held hostage asmy own body betrays me.

All I can do is hope and pray,

Someday this will all end and I will be free.

Lord, hear my deep cry!

I cannot overcome this, though I try.
