Desperation for Naught

Lips that slip,

And the truth doeth strip,

But their lies,

Decides,

And her heartbeat cries,

And the anguished denies,

But Still,

Their wretched lies.

Hearts that fumble,

In the dark, they tumble,

At the start, they go under,

Ripped apart, who could tell her,

Her reality, a fraud,

Her desperation,

For naught.

And yet, she cries,

And the anguished denies,

As she still holds on,

To their wretched lies.

But underneath she knows,

In life, she groweth cold,

In love, she cannot hold,

But Still, she sighs,

Her heart doeth decide,

Underneath it all,

She lies.
