Despite The Distance
Eight-hundred miles, thirteen hours, and three states away, Yet I see you everyday. I see you when I close my eyes. Standing there with that cocky grin and jet black hair, hands in your pockets just deep enough so that your favorite watch is showing. It's summer, your freckles are coming out and your skin is the perfect shade of brown. I see danger in your eyes and safety in your arms. There is something about you that makes my heart beat a little faster, something that terrifies me. You look at me like I'm the only person in the room. Your eyes never leaving me. I can feel your eyes slowly peeling away the layers I hide behind, leaving me vulnerable. I can't hide from you, the scary part is, I don't want to. I want you to know me and every fiber in my body wants to know you too. Every night when I close my eyes you're home again, standing beside me, making me fall for you all over again. Eight-hundred miles, thirteen hours, and three states in between can't stop me from loving you.
