Despite My Past

Despite My Past,

The memories that form in the back in my cranium from first to last,

I recapture the things like a developing script for the screen's new cast.

My flaws come from my surroundings and every beat of my heart is pounding.

As I sit back in my room  and reflect,

often pondering of those fallen, broken hearts in the sea of reject.

Floating in the depths of despair, yet this damsel is awaiting to be repaired.

Despite My Past,

Who knew everyone's life seem so fast?

Why am I the only one feeling as if i'm the last?

Time flies. Like emily Dickinson's I heard a fly buzz-"

We live. Some of us graduate in the spring. But one of the saddest moments sting.

Despite My Past,

Tears fall, thought I had you in grasp.

I bid you farewell, buried 6-feet under soil and fresh grass.

Seasons come and go, I began to grow.

Until of this pain rushed back like acid seeping in my pores.

This feeling will continue to be forevermore.

I am stronger because of everything i've conquered and won.

Despite My Past,

My future had just begun.

Dedicated to my father, Rest in Peace
