Despite the Odds

Are you able to stand the pain?
I thought you would surely crack.
Are you able to start up again?
I thought you would surely slack.
Managing the exhaustion sure isn’t easy.
Look around, some of us never finish.
Open your eyes, perseverance is key.
Now isn’t the time to diminish.
Give me faith to win this race.
Give me love, give me grace.
Peace of mind. True strength.
All these blessings will come from above.
Through the sweat, and through the blood.
So, don’t give up hope my dear.
Home is closer than you think.
Don’t you shed another tear.
Soon you will rest your weary feet.
Are you able to stand the pain?
I thought you would surely crack.
Are you able to stand up again?
I thought you would never come back.
