Despite our Differences (Because I Love You)

In a moment of silence

The thought of you wanders my mind

Endlessly filled with memories of joyous moments

Indescribable sentiments that are onerous to find

And through our differences, we’ve come a long way

We’ve come to learn new delicacies and delights

That in our hearts will forever stay

Articulating pointless thoughts and talks, nights through nights

And during my melancholic hours

You present to me, a never ending warmth of understanding

A reassurance that shapes the comfort of a bed of flowers

With your love, our love remains longstanding

“Are you home yet?”

“You should go rest.”

“Why are you upset?”

“In my eyes, you’re the best.”

This empathy and care that resides in our connection

Our ambitions and goals for the sky

And yet, we still have left to be true perfection

And the reason why we still try

Why?

Because I love you.
