Destiny
From the day you were born tears fell from your eyes
As the years went on so did your cries
You longed for the sound of a mothers lullaby
And even the kiss of a father's goodnight
But what you were given was a life of affliction
You would close your eyes and pretend it was fiction
You tried soothing the bruises that covered your body and soul
You just couldn't fathom how one could be so cold
As time went on you thought you had escaped from the pain
Just to fall in the arms of one more insane
After a while you could no longer bother
To call the man who had taken your innocence
Your father
It was his duty to guide and protect you
He had no right to misuse and molest you
Forced to hold shut this closet of secrets
You had no one to cease this demon
And so you suffered through repetitive penetration
Until the life of a loved one endured termination
It was then that you released the horrid truth
It was then that someone finally saved you
And now your biggest battle is the one in the mirror
The focus is now, how to heal her interior
For darling you no longer have to cry
But you must pick yourself up and wipe your eyes
The past is behind you
Your present is beginning
And you future will be a result of your personal healing
