DESTINY
DESTINY
By Katherine Orgill
Little girl,
If only you knew.
Little girl,
If only you could see,
The future that is ahead of you, the devil said is not meant to be.
Little girl,
The innocence that you have is not going to last.
when you become a teenager your childhood will be a distant memory, a simplistic past.
The home you knew to keep you safe and warm all of these years,
Will become a place of suffering, pain and tears.
Because all this time you thought mommy and daddy deeply loved each other,
Wake up! Your innocence is gone, it left with your father when he turned his back on your mother and brother.
Put the games down, it’s time to leave naive behind,
You are now a teenager, brace yourself, this is a brutal time.
Teenage girl,
You never imagined divorce was going to apart of your life,
But what can you do when your father no longer wants a wife?
Walk through the door to your new low income single parent apartment home that you’ll share with your mother and brother.
It will just be the three of you for the next few years, no other.
You’re mother is barely making it, she can hardly keep a roof over your head and put food on the table,
You never imagined that your home could feel so unstable.
You’re drowning in emotion, you need some help,
Ongoing Anger and critical depression are feelings you’ve never felt.
You are now a teenager in an adult situation,
The little girl in me would have never imagined that I would experience such condemnation.
Teenage girl,
Let me give you some advice through your strife,
Nothing on earth is ever worth you taking your life.
The devil infiltrating your thoughts is something you cannot allow.
Although things are rough you can’t see if it now.
Emotions are temporary and everything is going to turn out right,
Because you are destined for greatness and your future is bright.
Keep your chin up and persevere,
You have a calling to save the lives of others through your career.
