Destruction

Very dry and dirty

The crumpled leaves

Cover the grass.

Without touching them

I cross the lawn,

I let them sleep.

Within my sights

My goals rest

Whether true or false.

In the extended night,

There will be dew

That wets the grass.

The crumpled leaves

Then soaking wet

Will open and rot.
