The dry skin under his wedding ring

long thick fingers

rough but gentle

the short nails trimmed

the gold-ness of  the plain ring

and smooth fingertips

My childhood's his warm smile

infectious laughter

being held together by

father-daughter dances

imprinting bonding moments

and knowing

I'll never be alone
