Detained
To whomever it may concern,
I'm alone
& I've felt alone since the day I was birthed.
Going through the stages of life feeling all this hurt, this pain, this resentment.
I just wanna be free, I just wanna be happy.
Could this really be my destiny ?
I'm trying.
& it just doesn't seem good enough.
who do I have to be?
who do I have to be to receive some of your love?
I want to ask "why me?" but who can I trust to hand me the truth.
They always say the truth will set you free. Well I'm ready to fly, but I don't think you realize how detrimental your lies are to me.
& how they scar.
& just because I paint this happy picture doesn't mean I'm a happy star.
My light is dimming & the old me would wish it go dark.
But I've come too far to wish bad things on my part.
& in conclusion I have to tell myself that you don't always have to end in the deep hole of your start.
