Determination Domination

Walking through the journey we call life,

There appear to be several determining factors

that make us who we are.

These determining factors are important in getting us through life,

But the things that get us through life and

the thing we cannot live without are very different.

There are things that help shape who we are,

And then there is something that the person we are

must have in order to survive.

This is the thing we cannot live without:

Something that we require to function and live.

For some, that thing without which life becomes impossible

is another life.

That of a person that inspires them,

gives them hope,

helps them see that line of silver in a gray storm.

For me, however, the thing with which I could not imagine

living life without is pure and simple determination.

The determination to overcome any problems,

The determination to keep aspiring to bigger things,

The determination to help other people find strength,

The determination to make dreams into reality.

This determination is the thing without which

my life loses purpose and no longer becomes my life,

For if we are expected to go through life

without ambition or without determination,

We become a people walking somewhere

without going anywhere.

Talking without speaking.

Hearing without listening.

Determination gives not only me,

But the entire planet Earth,

reason to keep improving and helping others,

and it is because of its pivotal role in each of our lives,

that it is truly the one thing

I cannot live without.

I cannot live without a purpose.

I cannot live without a goals to meet

I cannot live without determination.
