Detour

Didn't know how to love since I came to this country

I only understood how to love people that didn't love me

I understood how to walk fast past a man that was hungry

And I cried every night realizing that, that was once me

I thank the good lord that I am now able to write my words

and then again in cursive

Ive cursed the ones that I love by becoming this new person

The one that has given her bottle away when she was thirsty

the one that dove under the water when sharks were lurking

the young girl that still is taking notes, but writes them in verses

She is the one that has loved every person

And she will not stop until they're the ones who show her mercy

Hi there, I am smaller than most but my will to do better and never give up even when others do makes me seem big in heart. Even though I am outgoing I have a ironic fear of having stage fright. I don't know what it is but every time I stand in front of a crowd larger than 4 I get shaky in the hands and weak in the knees. Other than that I am pretty much an open book. Or at least i try my best to be.
