The Devastating Reality of Life

I wonder how things grow.

She remembers long ago.

My dreams go on pause,

As I say goodbye to Santa Claus.

I look at my grandmother's photo,

And I desperately try not to show.

Because these emotions I know,

I will not outgrow.
