Develop and Destroy

Scrape across bricks, I let my nails, feeling
Scrape the corners of my mind, not healing
Longing for something, unknown, out of reach
Lingering, suspended, one mind, to breach

Develop a thought and then let it go-
Destroy nothing, yet; never let it go

As rain falls, it seems to have just been born
Though this, the same rain, on repeat, forlorn
Inanimate, rain seems to be
But moves, nevertheless, on you and on me.

Develop a thought and then let it go-
Destroy nothing, yet; never let it go

Blink the wetness away, the rain will lose
Feel the now groundwater flow past my shoes
It will go for now, back up there
But return it will, for this world, we all share

Develop a thought and then let it go-
Destroy nothing, yet; never let it go
