Devil in My Lover
I found the devil in my lover to whom I couldn't refuse
In disguise of a bomb that I couldn't defuse
Allowing time to proceed as I sustained a prude
In misdirection lies the trick to a migicians' attitude
But the art in his disception made me wonder night and day
With his touch of imperfection was although perfect in every way
Love is blind to the eyes because it sees with the heart
And the heart believes what it does because the truth would rip it apart
His kiss that held all sins was addictive to the
And the angel I thought I was became one with the devil and on known as we
Even though he was my lover I was far from in love
To possess that type of affection it has to be granted from above
In the skies that held the sun or in the dark held the moon
All kinds of stars and promises of becoming soon
It was not a connection that I sought out
But a concentration brought out of me
He was not like water in a drought
More like a shark in the sea
What I felt was hunger in starvation
Not that food would do any swell
And the upheaval due to mortification
Was anything from wanting to tell
It's not a great story written to be envied
Yet people crave it in satisfaction
It is a lust of a rumor begging to be conceived
For as many people who postpone their reactions
The judgment of his skin was hotter than hell
It was a burning ache that couldn't be helped
This engagement only lasts for a teller's tale
And In the end you only play the cards you were dealt.
