The Devil Was Once an Angel

The devil was once an angel.

So kind; could do no harm.

But once he drinks,

out comes the belt,

and the anger of his past

I left you for a reason,

hoping you won't hurt me again,

but you still do.

The devil once loved his little angel,

but soon forgot her.

Every time I talk to you,

I want to die.

You never cared.

I cut and you think I'm fine.

Truth is, I'm nowhere near fine.

I just say that so I don't have to talk to you.

You shoot me down,

but I won't fall.

Yes, I cry because of you,

but tears are words

the heart can't express.

When will it end?

I'm not perfect

but I'm happy;

without you.
