Devil Wears a Halo

He is not perceived as dangerous. But his eyes hold an ocean that begs to drown me. His smile seems to paint a cure to my sadness until I feel his words shoot through me like burning bullets. He could be so harmless before he locks me within his shackles of betrayal and feeds me pain until his eyes pull me back into the deep end where he insists I am safe. He is not perceived as dangerous. But his heart holds poison in a shiny golden glass to which I curiously take a sip.
