Devil's Got My Tongue


I arrive at my usual spot

I still manage to see my footprints within the ground

Where I beg. Where I plead

Again. And. Again. And. Again. And. Again.

My continuous mistakes elude me

And my continuous milquetoastic behavior shames me

Why do I keep coming back

Here

It merely raises me up to view my cornucopia of error more clearly

Nevertheless, I maintain permission of the virus to resume discombobulating my very being

 

So Great Physician

Please heal me

Or at least help me to help myself to

Quash this virus

So I can speak Your name more

And share Your name more

Instead of giving worldly things the wheel

And moving You to the back of the bus

Bestow upon me the strength to combat these agnostic pressures

And resist my own resistance

Of simply saying “God Bl-
