You look upon me with eyes unseeing.
Speak to me with lips unmoving.
Hear me with ears that have shut out the world.
Loved me with a heart that knows no love.
I hate this world you've set before me.
The way you move through the night,
Illuminating its shadows with the light of the moon.
Oh! The Irony of seeing more clearly in the dark.
The wonderment of your choosing at my company.
Nothing is yet to be seen on your face.
The intensity of the hunt has wrapped its heavy steel chains a body that has grown unaware.
The longing for humanity?
Never really human all the same.
Drawing near, my imagination takes hold.
Did something strange flicker through your eyes?
Is that why you reach absently for my hand.
The monster now fading to sleep.
You know that I am here.
You baffle and confuse me.
The agony that resides in my heart spreads profound.
I can't rightly express it.
I keep smiling, giving you the piece of humanity you don't recognize.
I sit silently, willing, and depressingly through all the bodies that you crush.
All the souls you corrupt and destroy.
I never turn away.
I face the demon you are.
I shall sit and wait.
I shall laugh and cry.
I shall hold and love you.
You have stolen my heart.
And given me no choice.
