The Devil's Poison
A man in his prime
It's a damned crime
As he falls to the ground, just to get up
And take another sip of the cup_ the devil's poison.
His wife whispers in his ear.
"Someday the devil inside you is going to pay.
You can't keep drinking your life away."
She didn't know
In the madness of his own darkness,
His looks so bare and bold,
He knew his spirit was cold as ice.
She had a way to make him believe
What pleasures yet to him remain.
It is that sweet taste of pleasure unsurpassed in the act of love
That satisfies his human soul.
She feels so unstable as a dream of the night.
For in her mind, not knowing if he is going to live or die.
But their love is so strong!
She won't leave him in the dark abyss to fight his demons alone.
