Diabetic

It has been 5 years

60 months

1825 days

with Type 1 Diabetes

it's not always easy

people stare and comment

as you poke, prick, and inject yourself

embarrassment

as your body is failing you

slowly but surely

headaches, stomach pains, emotional stress

insulin shots, glucose tabs, testing strips

all a daily part of life

sometimes it seems impossible

but it gets better

you will survive, just like the others

with hope, desire, and a bit of insulin
