Diary of an Angry Black Women

It takes a certain awe to get me riled up

I mean to have enough hatred in my system to hate you

Cause I have not one hate bone in my body

Till I met you

I’ve slaved myself tirelessly

Just to seem a bit appreciative of what you should have offered

Yes I said it “should have offered”

But yet still only Women knows how to work a mans world

She ran circles around you like she was Bo Bo the fool

You played salvage with her till she began to see no wrong

And so she began to raise a mad black woman

This mad black woman was me

And I had an expansive repertoire of words

Which apparently had no place in your ear

So the next best thing was paper

Where I wrote to the world everything you didn’t want to hear

Cause the truth can only be held captive for yet so long

The more I wrote the more depth I felt behind each word

And this madness began to grow

Yet I had no recollection of how mad I actually was

Until my empty set of words on paper grew volume in numbers

And action yet not to far behind

Always trying to get even with and seek my revenge

But they say when you’re still mad you always try to get even

And you haven’t truly forgiven yet

And at that point I realized I wasn’t mad anymore…

I was angry, I am angry

And I am an angry Black woman
