Did I?

Dear Haley:

Fame, did I gain it?

Popularity, did I earn it?

Weight, did I lose it?

Wealth, did I obtain it?

No.

Memories. I made them, and they comfort me.

Education. I appreciated and pursued it, and it enriched and enthralled me.

Love, I learned the true meaning, and it encompasses me.

People. I changed them, and they changed me.

It's not the years in your life, but the life in your years, they say.

I never understood, but now I do.

Now, I'm living.
