did i wake up like this?

lights switch on

time to get up

half-awake i see myself

quit my dreaming suit

and pull on the uniform

it is not only for school

not only for code

these are the shoes that tread on the ladder of society

the backpack that holds words not my own

the weak weapons education gives me

that one day will turn against me

did i wake up like this?

ready to submit, ready to hush

ready once more to swallow ideas

that are not my own?

i have to follow code
