The Difference Between

There is pain,

And there is happiness.

But I am trapped in the difference between.

There is life,

And then there is living.

I need to find out the difference between.

No one ever told me that this would be so hard,

No one warned me that life wasn't so easy.

So now I am trying to survive this,

So now I need someone to save me!

Is there a way for me to escape?

Is there a way for me to clean up this mess?

I wish that I didn't fail you,

I wish that you would see I did my best.

There is pain,

And there is happiness.

But I am trapped in the difference between.

There is life,

And then there is living.

I need to find out the difference between.

Maybe this pain at least shows me that I'm human,

Maybe I realize that I am not an empty machine.

At least now I know better days are coming,

At least now I know that I can chase my dreams.

Finally I see that this world might try to drag me down,

Finally I see that I am going to survive.

I hope that you believe in me now,

I hope that you see the difference between breathing and being alive.
